We’ve helped property owners access over $21 million in state and federal grants to repair and rehabilitate their properties since 1984. That’s 1,100 units—and you may qualify, too.

Home rehabilitation: Homeowners may qualify for essential home repairs including roof replacement, new septic, window replacement, and other work that fixes code violations or addresses health and safety issues.
Mobile home replacement: If your mobile home has outlived its useful life, you may qualify for a new, energy-efficient model at little or no cost to you.
Accessibility modifications: If you or someone in your home has a medically documented disability, we can help with projects such as adding a wheelchair access ramp or lift, installing handrails, or modifying your kitchen or bathroom.
Emergency repairs: Grants are available to low-income, elderly homeowners with emergency repair needs.

Short-Term to Long-Term Rental Incentive Program

Earn up to $2,000 by converting your short-term rental (STR) into a long-term rental through a pilot program led by Adirondack Roots, AdkAction and LivingADK. The program is open to STR owners in Elizabethtown and Webb/Inlet and surrounding communities.

About the Program

You can help alleviate the North Country’s persistent housing shortage by turning your short-term rental into a long-term rental — and we’ll pay you up to $2,000 to do it.

This year-long pilot project, supported by grants from the Adirondack Foundation and the Hudson Headwaters Upstream Fund, will work with up to 12 property owners who agree to convert units currently in use as short-term rentals into long-term rentals.

Properties must be legally permitted dwelling units.
Preference given to landlords with rental units in Elizabethtown and surrounding towns such as Keene, Westport and Lewis, and Webb/Inlet and surrounding towns.
Adirondack Roots staff will be available to help property owners navigate the changeover process and provide other assistance when possible.
